Daylight (full spectrum light) is the source of life and essential to our well being, health and development. Artificial light is a gross distortion of full spectrum light, lacking most of its spectral components. The pictures below illustrate the spectrum of lighting available in both natural as well as artificial light.
Daylighting is using fenestration to reduce the need for artificial lighting. The concept of Daylighting entails the use of sunlight for lighting spaces during the day by conveying sunlight into buildings and inner spaces. This is also used in tandem with conventional lighting solutions. Daylighting solutions include systems that reflect and direct daylight into the building, as well as those that double up by letting both daylight and creating ventilation.
DLPS is pioneering the concept of Daylighting technologies in India.
